The Black Platy is a freshwater livebearer that’s perfect for beginners. These fish have a shiny black body sprinkled with tiny white speckles and usually a white face. They breed easily in freshwater tanks, so you might spot little fry popping up without any extra effort. Black Platies are simple to care for as long as water parameters are consistent. Keep them in water between 72–78°F with a gentle filter and do regular water changes to keep the tank parameters in check. Feed them a balanced mix of high‑quality flakes and occasional live or frozen foods. Platies are peaceful, so they get along well with other calm fish like tetras and rasboras. What we feed our fish
