Branches extend to the ground on open grown trees, narrow, almost columnar crown. Very slow growing and lives for ever.

The seeds can be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed plastic bag for up to one year. Detailed instructions about germination are included with the seed packet.

Artificial Germination

Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours

Stratification: Cold stratify for 60 days

Germination: Sow seed 1/8" deep, tamp the soil, keep moist, mulch the seed bed

Natural Germination

Sow in fall for spring germination (often preferred)
